10 Winter Foot Care Tips for Pretty Feet!
Brrrrr. Baby it’s cold outside! Winter is not only in the air, it’s in my shoes and on my tootsies. Wrapping up in extra layers: socks, slippers and blankets, near the fireplace, is fun. Unfortunately, too much additional heat on your feet can dry your skin. The other problem associated with bundling up too much is sweaty feet. Too much moisture or sweat can lead to foot fungus or athletes foot. which grows in wet, warm, damp areas. What’s a girl to do?
Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean we have to have ugly feet. By giving your tootsies a little TLC in the winter, you can have beautiful feet like the gorgeous Eva Mendes or Eva Longoria anytime. We have some tips for you below, and a couple of links to other websites for additional ideas.
Keep in mind, if you’re new at this and you’re already fighting Wilma Flintstone feet, give your feet time to evolve. I’m sure both Eva’s would readily tell you, beautiful feet don’t happen overnight. January is the perfect time to begin pampering your feet. As soon as the temps begin warming up, flowers and uncovered feet will begin popping out. When you unleash yours from your winter footwear, you want your feet to be noticed for the right reasons. Women with healthy pretty feet have a little more spring in their steps. Who can blame them, they rock awesome spring and summer sandals. Watch out flowers, beautiful feet are on their way!
1) Moisturize your feet each day with oil or lotion. Cold air dries out our skin.
2) Wear water proof boots in bad weather to help keep feet dry.
3) If your feet get wet, dry them right away, especially between the toes.
4) Wear socks in your boots to help absorb foot perspiration, especially if your boots are fur lined.
5) If you place your feet near a heater, prevent them from drying out by moisturizing them.
6) Use a foot scrub to loosen dead skin. Then scrape or shave the dead skin from your feet after each shower. Follow up with oil or moisturizer.
7) Schedule, or give yourself, a pedicure every two weeks.
8) If your feet sweat, use foot powder to help absorb the the moisture.
9) Foot and toe warmers are great for keeping feet toasty if you are outside for extended periods of time. (Make sure you read the packages carefully.)
10) Wear shoes that fit properly. Too much space in your shoes leads to friction, and friction leads to calluses.
